I got some really good advice from a dude called Sound. I sent him 2 bars, and he pointed out that all the detail I put into those 2 bars could be elaborated on and made into 8 bars. So instead of bluntly just describing things as they are, you should try going into further depth with them.

For example; "I walked down the road", could easily be made into "I slowly walked down the long winding road, watching the cars go by, as the wind blew in my hair".

When I write story tracks I tend to make it up as I go along. I usually have a general overview of where I want to go with it, but after that I just write. It's good to picture the story in your head too, that way you'll find it a lot easier to describe everything because you can see it in your mind.

I write the lyrics first sometimes because they just come to me out of nowhere and I will be like oh that sounds pretty good and write it down so I don't forget it and then just add to it. But I do the music first whenever I can't think of any lyrics off the top of my head so I will create music, and then think of a storyline for it, and then write lyrics based off of the storyline and music pattern. So do that you will get storyline easily.

Another tip I can give on storylines is to make sure you don't get too wrapped up in the imagery and keep it simple enough for someone to follow...the idea is that you want the reader or listener to enter your world, not just picture it from the outside.
