Just rap, freestyle all the time, and listen to everything, and maybe read... you'll be surprised how quickly your skills elevate.

work with a partner. when its your turn to spit, then spit while your partner is pointing out different things in your suroundings. as he points to them, say what comes to mind with tat object as the focal point. this way, the skill of 'rhyming' and 'fast thinking' is what actually grows, not how good you are at saying whats already been said 20 times before...

Rule #1. Be CONFIDENT.

Don't ever let someone hate on you for doing your own thing. If you feel like taking Hip Hop to another level then DO IT. Don't be scared of your own potential.

Freestyle, do what you regularly do while thinking of lyrics, dont give a fuck, be confident, realize what's your music and what you heard from a song while writing, get a lot of ink and paper....

try to develop your own style & master it, make that shit your own, used for alternative ways to save things, like instead of saying im rolling on 20s say, my rims is below the drinking age, try to put a fresh spin even on the simplest things

I'm avid reader. I found that it helps diversify my lyrics and ability to tell a story. That's my main focus. A lot of rappers don't make there rhymes flow into a story but keep it abrupt with no structure.

Read books to upgrade your knowledge and references helps with metaphors and gives you more shit to talk about rather than the generic rap themes i.e. money drugs and murder del said it best "upgrade your grey matter cuz one day it may matter"

^listening to the dying bars of the ironically titled "Me Against The World" would also achieve what del intended. (and may have been a nod to del as well)

I agree, entirely.

Hence the term "choppy-ass flow".
