overlooking civilization

Tower of Babel
times infinity
Idols defying Heaven
swallowing galaxies
making nighttime brighter
than the Sun

Chrome phalluses, erected
by man's appetite for power
Statues of light
seducing eyes
of grown-ass men
to tears of awe

How beautiful, this offspring
of the Egyptian pyramids
These temples of Babylon
that shine as bright as Lucifer
before he fell

I've often found myself, lost
in how obliviously these lavish
wonders dominate nature
How beautiful, this city
and her skyline.
