pro tools has been good to me and so has FL studio 7 XXL. thats about all I need for now till I get more into this shit.

The FL studio progs are dope. I use it for alot of my drums, and the odd mpc-style chopped up beat now and again. I just use FL Studio, Soundforge to record samples into and chop up ,and Acid to sequence, along with a load of waves plug-ins. Does the job. I tried fuckin with Reason and Pro Tools and all that, but I've decided to stick to the ol' keep it simple steez...

i finally tinkered wit that adobe audition 2.0, n lemme tell y'all somethin...i used it 2 master some tracks some cats did at my crib, n they the 2 best tracks i ever mixed/mastered in my LIFE!! 2.0 where it's at, if u ain't got it GET IT!!

Id have to say FL Studio 10 for starting up production on a beat. You might not need anything else but a mic if you have a mac, but if you are using a pc u will need an audio interface like mobile pre usb to record vocals on FL Studio 10.
