Default Any one use samplers rather than software?

I use a Korg Electribe Smk 2 Rhythm production sampler to make my beats. Has any one got one?
Do you use an Mpc to make beats? Or do you use software like ableton or protools? and what do you find most satisfying to use?

an mpc is often used for the ease of workflow, but mainly because of the specific mpc quantization sound. It does a certain "thing" with hi hats.

the analog to digital converters on the older units also have a sound which is often sought after.
